Handvo is a traditional Gujarati savory cake that requires 8 – 10 hours of fermentation. Here I am sharing the Instant Farali Handvo Recipe, a Quick and easy recipe you can eat during fasting days like Shravan, Navratri & many more.
You can make this Handvo with one of the three cooking methods;
1. Baking in a special Handvo Cooker
2. Baking in Oven
3. Using a pan.
In this recipe, I have made it in a pan on Tawa which requires 20-25 minutes of cooking time. Moraiyo/Sama Ke Chawal and Sabudana are used as essential ingredients which can be consumed during Vrat/Upvas.
It’s easy, it’s quick, and it tastes delicious. They’re fine and they look wonderful. Farali Handvo Bites is something which I have loved my whole life.

The batter for Farali Handvo is different from Upvas Idli & Dhokla Recipe I have shared on my channel. You can make with or without vegetables like Lauki & Gajar in making this Handvo.

How to make Instant Farali Handvo recipe | Vrat/Upvas Special Recipe recipe with step by step photos:
1. Take blender jar and add 1 cup Sama. Then grind it. After that take out in bowl.
2. After that add ½ cup sabudana (sago balls), grind it. After that take out in bowl.
3. Add 1 cup curd in the sama bowl.
4. Add salt and 1 tbsp black salt. Then add 1 tbsp black paper powder, and add ½ turmeric powder. Mix it well.
5. Add 1 cup water.
6. Add ½ cup grated loki, ½ cup grated carrot, and ¼ cup chopped green chilies. Mix it well.
7. Add 1 tbsp fruit salt and then add 1 tbsp lemon juice on the fruit salt. Mix it well.
8. Take tawa and add 1 ½ tbsp oil. Then add some curry leaves. Then add some sesame seeds and add some cumin seeds.
9. Add batter on the tawa.
10. Put some curry leaves and pinch some red chili powder. Cook it for 15 minutes on low flame.
11. Ready to serve with curd and sprinkle some coriander powder on the handvo.
